Blood flow restriction, or BFR, is a specialized training method that may be included in a rehabilitation plan after a suitability assessment.
A plan built around your movement.
BFR uses specialized cuffs during low-load exercise. Your therapist determines whether it is appropriate for you and supervises the setup, exercise selection, and progression.
Why a therapist may consider BFR
When heavier loading is not appropriate, BFR may be considered as one part of a strength or rehabilitation program. It is not suitable for everyone.
Assessment and supervision matter
Tell your therapist about your health history so they can consider relevant risks and precautions. This is not a technique to start independently based on website information.
