Balance & fall prevention

Feel steadier. Move with confidence.

Dr. Gerard Donayre guiding a supported movement exercise at Advanced Balance

Stairs, uneven ground, or a walk around the neighborhood shouldn’t feel out of reach. We start by understanding what makes movement difficult for you, then build a plan around your everyday life.

A plan built around your movement.

Balance involves more than strength. Your vision, inner ear, sensation, and movement all play a part. An individual assessment helps your physical therapist identify the areas that need attention.

Unsteadiness or a fear of falling
Changes in walking, balance, or coordination
Difficulty with stairs and everyday movement
Returning to activity after an injury

Understand your movement

Your evaluation may include balance and gait assessment, strength and mobility testing, and neurologic screening when appropriate. Gerard’s background includes Natus balance-system testing and training.

Practice what matters to you

Your plan can include supervised balance activities, coordination work, and exercises adapted to your abilities. We connect that work to practical goals, such as navigating stairs or feeling more confident on a walk.

Build a path forward

We review how you are progressing and adjust the plan with you. If a concern needs a different type of care, your therapist will discuss the appropriate next step.
